    Slover & Loftus has extensive experience in the coal supply contract area, including the representation of coal buyers and users in connection with such activities as development of procurement policies and procedures, negotiation of new contracts, renegotiation of existing contracts, price adjustment audits, "change of law" claims, implementation of price review and readjustment procedures, and contract buy-outs or buy-downs. The firm has undertaken numerous assignments which might be described as legal audits of coal supply agreements for purposes of identifying and evaluating potential legal issues.

     The firm has also worked extensively on disputes over royalty payments and has been an active participant in royalty matters before both the U.S. Department of Interior and state taxing agencies.

     Slover & Loftus has been involved in several court cases and arbitrations dealing with a variety of issues arising under coal supply contracts, and firm members have substantial expertise in the legal doctrines and statutes normally involved in legal disputes over coal supply contracts.
